Peter Gill is one of the UK’s foremost Focusing trainers. He has been teaching for more than fifteen years; leading retreats, workshops and classes. He is qualified with the British Focusing Association and The International Focusing Institute in New York. He is a Focusing Coordinator and runs Professional Focusing trainings. He is also qualified in Somatic Experiencing (SE), a body-based approach to healing trauma. More recently he has been training in facilitating nature connection and grief work. He lives in England with his wife, son and dog, and loves being in the nature.

Many of us long for a deeper sense of belonging, yet find it elusive or distant. It is a deep and ancient need. But what even is belonging? And what does our body know about it?

This weekend workshop will take us on a experiential journey into the many aspects and realms of belonging. Using practices taken from the body based approach “Focusing”. We will explore how both belonging is needed and can be found in maybe new and surprising ways: We will explore how to open to everything inside of us to create inner belonging, opening a welcoming space to all that has been exiled. We will explore what might hold us back from deeper connection to others? - welcoming anything that makes these connections hard. We will also take half a day outside to open to our belonging in the natural world - the more than human world.

Deep inside we have a compass that knows its way to belonging - and it lives in our wise and extraordinary human body.


On this weekend, through enquiry and reflection, paired practices, group discussion we will learn these skills and more:

— How to “come home to oneself” in self compassion to find inner belonging
— How to find new ways to feel and access belonging through nature
— How to meet and accept parts of us that hold us back
— How to listen to our inner compass as a guide in this journey

No experience necessary. Open to anyone - either if you know Focusing or are totally new to it. Be prepared to some walking and time outdoors for at least half a day on Sunday morning in the Parque Florestal de Monsanto. (Further details will be shared on the workshop about this)
