accommodation and food
We will be staying at the local Surf Lodge. Accommodation is simple and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Each room has its allocated bathroom. Most of the rooms are shared and single sex (unless you ask otherwise).
Food wise, the meals are vegetarian (this includes dairy and eggs) but sometimes participants go spear fisshing and the cook will gladly take care of that too. There is always plenty of fresh fruit. We are in a remote part of the island and, for practical reasons, we can’t cater for special diets. This is a no intoxicants retreat (no drugs or alcohol).
teacher
Sagara fell in love with surfing as a kid when he lived in Rio. Its been life long affair only equaled by his love for Buddhism and meditation. He is a very experienced mindfulness teacher, teaching both at Centro Upaya and corporate businesses in Portugal. These days he lives in Lisbon with his wife, Ana, and daughter, Rosa.
getting there
Travelling to São Jorge always entails a stop over at one of the main islands and then catching another plane to get there. There are lowcost flights to Azores from Europe mainland and an agreement with the local airline, Sata, for inter-island flights. Our staff will pick you up at São Jorge's airport.
